Lets go together – munjip
In Dhurga (Dhurga language of the Yuin people on the NSW South Coast), “munjip” means “walking together, let’s go.”
It’s a community and cultural word, not just a literal “walk,” but an idea of:
- moving forward together
- going on Country together
- shared journey and connection
Your adventure begins on the Modern projects of the Munjip Trail on Walbunja Yuin Country, where the name was chosen with Elders to reflect unity, movement, and connection to place
On the waters of Batemans Bay, we paddle past secluded beaches, dramatic headlands, and crystal-clear bays while spotting local wildlife and learning about the region’s rich coastal ecosystems. After a relaxing beach stop, you’ll come ashore and continue your journey on foot along sections of the spectacular Munjip Trail.
Winding through coastal bushland, rocky lookouts, and pristine beaches, the Munjip Trail offers incredible ocean views and a deeper connection to the cultural and natural heritage of the area. Along the way, your guides will share stories of the landscape, local ecology, Aboriginal connections to Country, and the forces that have shaped this remarkable coastline.
Following a scenic picnic lunch, the adventure continues beneath the surface with a guided snorkelling experience in a sheltered bay or reef. Explore vibrant underwater habitats, encounter fascinating marine life, and discover why Batemans Bay is one of the South Coast’s premier coastal destinations.
Led by experienced outdoor guides, this immersive day combines exploration, learning, and adventure, making it the perfect experience for active families, couples, groups, and visitors wanting to experience the very best of Batemans Bay.
