This is a ‘Discovery’ program for novice adult kayakers, first timers and excited beginners

Experience Overview

Location: Batemans Bay Area 

Duration: 4 hr skills sessions x 1

  • Trip planning introduction using weather and conditions review
  • Explore more paddling techniques draw stroke, stern rudders
  • Paddling trip!, enjoying the water, wildlife and practising what we have learnt

    Enrol and embark on an exciting adventure enjoying beautiful scenery, developing skills. This session will help you develop the confidence and skills to join our social paddling group.

    The Region X kayak skills Programs are a kayak development program designed for anyone to build paddle skills and increase interest in kayaking. 

    Our aim is to build your skill and confidence so you can enjoy kayaking more often as you discover the joy of being on the water regularly in our social paddling program.

    Our team will advise via email a few days prior where to meet as destination will be weather and tide dependant.

    On these paddles you are welcome to bring your own kayak and equipment, if so – on the payment screen please use the code OWNGEAR and this will give you $30 off for each paddle. We also have a range of kayaks, PFD’s and Paddle equipment for sale in our store if you would like to purchase, please let us know.

     

    If supplying your own kayak please also bring the following:

    PFD, Signalling devices Whistle / Mirror, Paddle, 

    Recommended: Paddle Lanyard, drink bottle, phone dry bag, dry bag 

     

    Minimum of 4 paddlers required for lesson to be confirmed.

      WHAT TO BRING

      • Clothes you’re happy to get damp (activewear is great!)
      • A wetsuit is recommended for rescue session
      • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
      • A warm layer and a beanie in colder months
      • Water shoes, or old sneakers
      • A bottle of water
      • A towel for after
