School Holidays Sorted! Kayak, Snorkel & Explore
Get the kids off the screens and into the great outdoors these school holidays! Our Kids Kayak & Snorkel Program is a fun-filled adventure designed to get young people active, exploring and discovering the amazing waterways of the NSW South Coast. They’ll learn the basics of kayaking, explore the coastline and get in the water for a snorkel, all while building confidence, making new friends and having a great time. No previous kayaking experience is needed, just a sense of adventure! With experienced Region X guides leading the way, it’s the perfect school holiday adventure for kids who love being outdoors, trying something new and getting amongst nature.
Sessions are 830am – midday daily

- Welcome to kids and families and introductions
- “Meet the Fleet” of colourful, comfy sit-on-top kayaks
- Introduction to equipment, basic strokes
- ‘Reading the Conditions’ Fundamentals
- Identifying dangers
- Cruisy bay paddle
- Morning tea, games and program end
session 2
- Snorkel intro
- Wetsuit issue, fit out masks and fins
- Practice session rock pools
- Morning tea

- Introduction to kayak rescues
- Jump off the kayaks, flip them over, climb back on them
- Capsize drills
- Buddy and Swimmer Rescue Scenarios

- We take a packed morning tea and find a hidden beach to enjoy

- Kayak and snorkel day
- Put all your new skills to the test!
- We paddle to a snorkel site and enjoy the morning in and on the water
- Rescue Scenarios
WHAT TO BRING
- Clothes you’re happy to get wet (activewear)
- A wetsuit is recommended
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
- A warm layer and a beanie in colder months
- Water shoes, or old sneakers
- A bottle of water
- A towel for after
